Try to get a lot of kills or score the most points for your team. Every match you complete and every stat you rack up will give you XP that will level up your rank overall. Challenges and missions are said to be coming as well, so watch for those and try to complete them whenever possible. Doing so will also help raise your level from the default recruit to the upper echelons of Halo Reach rankings.
More items will come as the seasons progress, so keep an eye out for more news on cosmetics and more ways to earn XP. This one is more about keeping yourself engaged as playing the same old game mode in Halo 5 can become tiresome.

Tired of playing too much slayer? Give SWAT a try, which adds an extra layer of challenge to peak your interest. Some of the modes will require you to use certain weapons, giving you a better feel for some of the game's powerful and not-so powerful guns.
Even if the mode in question may not give a whole lot of xp, it is still makes reaching the max level before Infinite's release faster than doing nothing at all. If you're really short on time to play Halo 5's multiplayer, XP boosts, which can be accessed in the requisitions menu, will help lighten the stress on you a bit. Personally, this was one of my favorite game modes and I play a lot of fun with my friends.
In the past, I used to give you a lot of credits if you were not active in the game; regardless of your score, you would get a lot of credits as a bonus, totaling about 7, points per 20 minutes, which is very big compared to any other playing mode. Try the campaign, try different game modes and enjoy the experience with the community on the go. You will find yourself enjoying your time and progressing the game with the Halo Reach community.
Completing daily and weekly challenges is another way of earning credits towards leveling up your rank in Halo Reach. These are special goals that you can cultivate. These will give you credits at the end and allow you to level up much faster.
